B.A.D

MEET THE MUSCLES

Here at BurgerFuel HQ, we've got Haser, AKA Kairau Bradley, in our midstand and this man knows a good squat when he sees one. This means he also knows when we’re bitching out and not getting low enough and we rely on him to call us out – that bubble butt is not going to build itself, am I right? We also rely on him to make our big white walls look epic with a few aerosol cans and to nail out epic stuff upstairs in our BurgerFuel Design Department. Read all about him here and then maybe you guys can bond at the next B.A.D. Hard Yard over your fave motivational slow jam lyrics…

When and how did you start chillin’ with the BurgerFuel gang?
I won a competition called ’So you think you can Graffiti’. Not really, they took advantage of my, ‘will work for burgers’ ad in the back of an Auto Trader I conveniently left outside their office. To be honest, it really is a situation of hard work paying off, all those years painting on the streets came into contention with BurgerFuel and they saw a way to utilise my skills and knowledge, it also served as the perfect platform for me to leverage off.

What do you look for in a wall/building?
Hmm, that’s a tough one, anything big I guess. I do enjoy my stuff to be seen, so the bigger the better, and if it’s moves, that’s a bonus.

Now, gym talk: Do you prefer chin ups or push ups?
They both suck, you definitely look cooler doing chin ups though.

Whose physique would you prefer to have: Arnie or Sylvester Stallone in their prime?
Hmm, I’d go Sly. I’ve had my fair share of Rambo missions. Arnie’s build isn’t exactly functional - there aren’t too many times I need to lift 300kg.

What’s your best motivational line/piss take? We know how much you like to sing/rap while we work out.
Sometimes mid workout I’ll start singing out some D’Angelo. “You’re mind is telling you no, but your body, but your boooooooodddddy is tellin you yeaaahahahaahhhh.” I always hit the notes as well.

Now, let’s talk life stories: What’s your best ‘nearly arrested’ story?
I quite like my job so maybe I’ll keep that to myself.

What tunes are you cranking at the mo?
Some good shit. I’m really enjoying the output of some of our local artists, most people under the Young, Gifted & Broke umbrella, SWIDT gang, Bailey Wiley and Maala. Artist’s that always find their way back to my playlist are Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Bobby Womack, also can’t go wrong with some Lana Del Rey.

We heard you don’t drink the sizzurp so what do you do for kicks on a Saturday night?
I make room for more activities. In all seriousness, if I’m not actually doing nothing, I’ll be in my studio that I share with Askew (artist) and Tim Webber (furniture designer). Here I usually work on private commissions or artworks potentially for sale, exhibition or my own archive.

What is the BEST part of working with BurgerFuel?
Too many to name, we family up in hurr. Sorry guys, I’m gon’ be here fo’ life, haha. Hmm, I enjoy the culture within this brand, it also serves as the most ideal, if not perfect situation for someone in my position. It fuels my career.
