Introducing the new franchisee of BurgerFuel Timaru, Warren!
Tell us a bit about you and your story, what’s your background, where did you grow up etc?
I was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. I grew up with a lot of people and friends around me which helped with making me who I am today. After High School I went and started my studies here in New Zealand in 2011 and started my BurgerFuel career in April 2013. Fast forward 11 years, I have put my name forward and am now the franchisee for BurgerFuel Timaru.
What drew you to the brand and made you want to be a part of the BurgerFuel family?
I really loved the burgers as well as the atmosphere in terms of the people who work at BurgerFuel. It stood out to me as a real customer focused business.
What do you love about the BurgerFuel?
The best thing I love about BurgerFuel is the training you get given while climbing the ranks as well as the people and team you surround yourself with.
Is there anything you can tell us about your local community and how important it is to be a part of for you as a BurgerFuel franchisee?
I feel as a franchisee it is very important to have your stamp in the community as it will obviously bring in more customers, but it will also expand the brand name in general. It also gives us the tools to collaborate with some local businesses.
Other than your store, what’s your favourite place to go in your community? (doesn’t have to be food related)
I would have to say anything near water, I am a very active and swim focused person.
What’s your favourite BurgerFuel burger (including any modifiers)?
I am a sucker for the double American Muscle with bacon, so filling, and tastes so good.
What is your best BurgerFuel hack?
Probably the skills in the prep kitchen and being the "voice" of the store. Proud and loud on a Friday night shift.
Do you own a BurgerFuel machine? If so, what is it?
Unfortunately, not yet!
Random fact about yourself?
I used to be very good at skateboarding until I had some injuries (as you would expect). I also love to surf but the one thing I haven’t tried is snowboarding. I also pick up any ball sports.
Make sure to say 'hey' next time you're in the Timaru store!
