Chow Down : 014 Yancey
Welcome to Episode 14 of our weekly guest mix - The Chow Down - curated by me, Scizzorhands. Each week, I'll bring you a different DJ as we travel all over the world, across loads of different genres.
Young, keen and full of energy. Probably a phrase best describing this weeks Producer/DJ and also the music he portray's.
New Zealand has a chunk of musical movements happening in the underground scene and one to take a huse notice of is BASSMENT. A vision of Rui Kamata (DJ Katana), Bassment has become the home of new up and coming producers who have a love for bass music of the experimental kind. Putting on club nights , having merchandise and a good music outlet Bassment has quikly become a hub of talented producers and DJ's. Notable artists from the Bassment camp would include Nekolai, T1R and the ever massive Montell 2099. Simply put, the future is Bassment and Rui has a great vision for where he's taking New Zealand's next generation of electronic music producers
One artist who's making waves from the Bassment camp and also part of the Slo:Wave collective is Yancey and you can peep his guest mix here, and make sure you subscribe to our Mixcloud channel so you don't miss any future episodes.
