How did you first get involved with BurgerFuel?
I was really craving a change in scenery–something that would challenge me and give me the opportunity to thrive. One day, I stopped by the new local BurgerFuel for lunch, and the atmosphere immediately caught my attention. The energy, the art, and the people all seemed to radiate positivity and fun; you don't see that very often in other workplaces. I knew that was the kind of environment I wanted to be a part of. Not long after, I applied for a position, went through the interview process, and I pretty much hounded the current manager about when my first day would be, even before being accepted into the role. I was pretty confident that I got it.
What was the thing that attracted you the most?
Growing up in a petrolhead family in West Auckland, I spent a lot of my time at hot rod festivals and speedway events. I’ve always known that BurgerFuel had strong ties to car culture. I think that's what drew me in. It brings back memories from those days.
What do you tell your mates and family about BurgerFuel? What are the perks and best parts of being part of the store staff?
Sure, the free burgers are a nice perk. Still, at BurgerFuel, there's so much more to offer if you’re willing to put in the effort, from exciting opportunities like winning trips to HQ purely to have fun, to the incredible support and friendships I’ve built – not only within my store but across other locations and HQ as well. Most importantly, I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for the support of my franchisee. (shout out to Deano! Ya GC).
