Top 5 BurgerFuel highlights of 2018 & Thankyou!

Sitting here on the last few days of work for the year, the BurgerFuel team has decided to reflect on our top 5 happenings for 2018! Have a read below and see if you were a part of any of our Top 5 Highlights! 

RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR AT NORTHERN BASS

We started 2018 off by partying with Shapeshifter at Northern Bass! We took our purple container kitchen, served up a LOT of burgers, showed off our best dance moves and then slept from the 1st of Jan until actual work started.

But what a way to see in the new year! We'll be back again this year bigger, brighter and more epic than last time. If you're heading along you'll spot us from a mile away with our neon sign glowing purple light across the crowd.

FEEDING FESTIVALS NATIONWIDE

Speaking of the container, it's done the rounds so far in 2018! We've been at Beach Hop in Whangamata, Wu Tang Clan in Auckland, the CRC Speedshow, Friday Night Jams with Usher and we fed the very first Christchurch Friday Night Bites (mentioned below).

 

TACKLING STRAWS HEAD ON

We introduced completely compostable straws! Now you can enjoy your all-natural Thickshake with a straw that won't do as much harm to the planet as normal straws!

We love being Enviro-Mental with our packaging focused around being compostable - did you know our aioli punnets are made out of corn starch so they completely degrade in a plant loving, planet saving way! 

TAKING FRIDAY NIGHT BITES ON THE ROAD

As mentioned above, we went down to Christchurch and hosted our very first Friday Night Bites outside of Auckland!

We teamed up with Benny's Barber Shop to host a night filled with games, live tattoo artists doing their thing, four live musical acts including Jed Parsons, Ruse, Scizzorhands and MC Aeries. Locals, Friends of the Fuel and customers came along to enjoy burgers, beverages and bangers!

HOSTING GHOSTFACE KILLAH AT BURGERFUEL PONSONBY

To cap off the year we hosted legendary Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah at BurgerFuel Ponsonby.

Die hard fans were able to come in, grab a feed, get a shirt signed, have a photo taken and enjoy chatting with the legend himself.

That night the crew performed their 36 Chambers tour at Trusts Arena, where we served up a storm and Ghostface even gave us a special shout out at the end!

 

Some pretty close, but not quite amazing as the above, special mentions for the year too:

1. We opened our 56th store in Papamoa, Tauranga. It's the fourth store for local franchisee Rhys Jakich! It's been open since December 10th and is going strong!

2. We were able to feed and have a chat with Post Malone!

3. We added to our fleet of cars! We have added a 1965 Dodge Coronet and a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass to our fleet, keep an eye out for them! 

4. We teamed up with Puma a lot this year. Hosting their ambassadors in our BurgerFuel Athletic Department Gym twice this year and served up our gourmet minis at their 50 years of Suede event! 

5. We stepped up our dessert game with two limited edition flavours that rocked our dairy loving socks off! Caramel Pop-Top and the current special TriFuel were massive hits and we can't wait to release more epic flavours in 2019!
